Effective 10 October 2026
ClearDose is a medication reminder app. Medicine data stays in the app's local storage unless you enable iCloud device backup or choose to share it, as described below.
Medicine names, strengths, instructions, dose times, the record of doses you mark as taken or skipped, optional photos you attach, and an optional family contact name and phone number. ClearDose also saves app preferences such as text size, reminder timing, missed-dose follow-up, and optional photo confirmation. These details stay in the app's local storage and may be included in your iCloud device backup if backups are enabled.
When you tap "Send report to family" or "Text family", ClearDose opens the iOS share sheet or Messages with the text pre-filled. Nothing is sent until you send it, and the app never sends anything on its own.
The camera is used only when you choose photo confirmation, and the photo library only when you add a picture of a pill. Photos are stored in ClearDose app data and may be included in an iCloud device backup if backups are enabled.
Undoing a taken or skipped dose removes that dose record; undoing a taken dose also restores its pill-count deduction. Deleting a medicine removes it and its associated dose history. Deleting the app removes its current local app data. An earlier iCloud backup may retain a copy until that backup is updated or deleted in iOS Settings.
ClearDose is a reminder tool, not a medical device and not medical advice. Always follow the instructions of your doctor and pharmacist.
